Let's Play Catch Up.

I know that it's been a few days since I've written anything. Life, as usual, has been just a little bit crazy.

Let's start with my Tuesday night dinner.
Rachael and I went to Panera for three hours. It was one of the best catch up dinners ever. It felt so good to see her again. It was so hard to go from best friends to not talking ever. I know that things will never be back where they were a few years ago, but there are things that can be mended. I really hopt that we can continue to mend our friendship. And the Mac & Cheese was delicious!

Let's talk about tattoos next.
Today, one of my bosses came to me and told me that some people (all older) had complained about my tattoos. She told me that the tattoo on my wrist (which says family) is fine, but my other two aren't. For those who don't know, I have a tattoo that goes along my collarbone that says "I refuse to sink" and I have another on the inside of my upper left arm that says "Knowledge is not necessarily wisdom" and has the eye of Horus. My boss told me I need to start covering up my tattoos and told me to not take it personally. I was actually pretty upset by it. I mean, my tattoos are part of who I am. I will never understand the generation gap with tattoos. I just don't understand how an older person can literally say "Those are disgusting", especially when they are tasteful. They're art, not a disease. As a result, I'm now having to go buy some cardigans or something of the sort to cover my artwork. Also, if someone has an issue with my tattoos, they should come to me about them, not my boss. My tattoos do not effect how I do my job and they do not effect my attitude.

I read something really inspirational the other day.
One of my former teachers from high school also writes a blog. She's been through some rough times lately (I won't go into details in respect for her privacy), and she posted a blog entry the other day ab out an interaction with God. Basically, she cleared out her heart for Jesus. She let go of all the bad and bitter feelings that had filled her heart for weeks and let her heart be cleaned by God. That sounds odd at first, but it was seriously so inspirational. It really was a great example to me how Jesus conquers all. No trouble is too big for Him. He's definitely a sold rock to stand on.

Now it's spring break.
I turned in my final assignment online today at work and I'm officially off for a week! Well, off from school anyway. I still have some work. BUT, I'm off next Friday, so Matthew & I are going to KC for four days! If anyone in that area would like to see me, let me know!

Blog Challenge - Days 6, 7, & 8.

Day 6 - Your last random act of kindness.

This probably was something along the lines of me holding a door for someone or something of that nature.

Day 7 - What's your dream job?

My dream job is to own a non-profit organization that helps ex-offenders with reentry into society after they get out of prison. Ideally, I would offer housing, training for jobs, and resources for them to get documents they may need since they are out (driver's license, social security card, food stamps, etc). If you want a great example, check out Spirit Key!

Day 8 - Biggest Pet Peeve

I actually have two pet peeves. Slow walkers & those who smack their gum.

Dinner tonight.

Tonight I'm going to dinner with an old friend of mine. We actually haven't been friends for about 2 years. This will be the first time we actually sit down and talk since before we were in college. It's been that long. I have to say, I'm pretty nervous to see how this goes.

BUT, I'm pretty darn excited for Panera's mac & cheese!

Blog Challenge - Day 5

Favorite movies you never get sick of watching.

Bridesmaids! I loooove this movie. I find it hilarious and entertaining.

My Girl! This one is older, but I love it so much. It's always been a favorite of mine. I almost always cry during it, but I truly love this movie.

Blog Challenge - Day 4

What is your favorite childhood memory?

I would have to say that I have a lot of favorites.

1. Fishing with my dad. Usually once a year we would go down to Roaring River and would go trout fishing. There's trails and a hatchery there. It's absolutely beautiful there and I want to go back soon.

2. Playing softball for 8 years. I loved it so much. I started playing when I was 4, and continued until I was 12. I loved every part. The selling of candy bars, the practices, the hot games, the gum, the sunflower seeds. It was all wonderful.

3. I was friends with this girl, Rachael, from 6th grade until the summer before my first year of college. We'd always been great friends and spent a TON of time together. We would just hang out or we would go out on midnight boat rides. It sucks that a boy came between us, but the memories will always be there.

4. Holidays at my Grandma Jo's & Papa Jim's. Man, those were the days! Back when the entire family got along and nothing could tear us apart. My cousins were my siblings back then. I looked forward to holidays just because it meant going to grandma's. We would play wiffle ball, kick ball, or we would sled or play basketball. This is probably my all time favorite.

Blog Challenge - Days 1, 2, & 3.

Day One

Self portrait & 5 facts about myself.

Fact one: I'm actually a natural blonde; not black or red.
Fact two: I'm only five feet tall.
Fact three: My favorite color is purple.
Fact four: I work at a car dealership, and I loooove it.
Fact five: My favorite television station is HGTV, and my favorite show is Property Brothers.

Day two.

Favorite quote(s).

Oh man, I can't even be sure. I love so many words. Really any word is my favorite. I mean, we are made of words, thanks to God. The Bible has some of my favorite quotes, especially in Matthew.

Day three.

What makes me happy?

Many things make me happy. First, Jesus makes me happy. I take that back, he makes me joyful. Matthew makes me happy as well. He is one of the best things to ever happen to me. I'm so blessed to have someone like him in my life. My family and friends also make me happy. And my job.

In fact. the other day, one of the women I work with asked me what the biggest problem in my life was. And my answer was school. which isn't even a big deal. My life isn't too hard right now (regardless of some money issues), and I'm extremely thankful for that. I'm truly happy for the first time in a long time.

31 Day Blog Challenge

One of my friends, and fellow bloggers, posted this on Instagram and I thought I'd give it a try!
